Each tablet contains: Folic Acid 5 mg

• Treatment and prevention of megaloblastic anemia caused by folic acid deficiency.
• Prevention of folic acid deficiency in conditions with increased requirements (such as pregnancy, lactation, and growth).
• Prevention of neural tube defects in fetuses when taken before conception and during the first months of pregnancy.
• Treatment of deficiency due to malabsorption or chronic use of certain medications (such as anticonvulsants or methotrexate).

• Adults: 1–5 mg daily depending on the severity of the condition.
• Women before and during pregnancy: 0.4–1 mg daily as a preventive dose; in high-risk cases (previous history of neural tube defect), 4–5 mg daily.
• Children: The dosage should be determined based on age and severity of deficiency according to the physician’s recommendation.
• Tablets may be taken with or without food; it is preferable to take them at the same time each day.

• Generally well tolerated.
• Mild symptoms may occur such as nausea, digestive disturbance, diarrhea, insomnia, or irritability.
• Rarely: allergic skin reactions (rash, itching, redness).

• Hypersensitivity to folic acid or any of the product's ingredients.
• Pernicious anemia or any type of anemia caused by vitamin B12 deficiency unless treated with vitamin B12 to avoid nerve damage.

• Usually well tolerated.
• Mild symptoms may occur, such as nausea, gastrointestinal upset, diarrhea, sleep disturbances, or nervousness.
• Rarely: Allergic skin reactions (rash, itching, redness).

• Pregnancy: It is highly recommended for the prevention of neural tube defects and is considered safe at the recommended doses.
• Breastfeeding: It is excreted in small amounts in breast milk and is considered safe for therapeutic use.

• FDA classification: Category A (safe when used at recommended doses during pregnancy).

• Rarely causes serious symptoms.
• In very high doses, it may cause: gastrointestinal disturbances, nervous irritability, and insomnia.
• ​​Treatment is supportive and symptomatic.
